About The Position

Atlas Immersion Academy is a multilingual early childhood education organization offering Spanish, French, and Chinese immersion programs for children from 3 months through Pre-K across five Portland Metro campuses. Starting August 31, 2026, our Multnomah County campuses will operate as Preschool For All (PFA) facilities — Multnomah County's initiative providing free, high-quality preschool to eligible children. We are now hiring Spanish-speaking Assistant Teachers and Aides for our Gabriel Park and Northeast campuses to join this exciting launch. As an Assistant Teacher, you will partner directly with the Lead Teacher to create a warm, consistent, and language-rich Spanish environment for our youngest learners. You will support daily routines and learning activities, build relationships with children and families, and actively invest in your own professional growth as part of a high-accountability PFA team. Our Assistant Teachers are expected to bring genuine commitment and initiative to the role, including daily family communications, regular reflections on their own language immersion practice, active participation in family events, and structured professional goal-setting.

Requirements

  • Minimum Step 5 on the Oregon Registry Online (ORO) is required
  • Fluency in Spanish— all interactions with children are conducted in Spanish
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Oregon Food Handler's Card (Required prior to employment or within the first 30 days)
  • Registration in the Central Background Check Registry (Required prior to employment or within the first 30 days)
  • Adult and Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification (Required prior to employment or within the first 30 days)
  • Prevention is Better than Treatment training (Required prior to employment or within the first 30 days)
  • Introduction to Child Health and Safety training (Required prior to employment or within the first 30 days)
  • Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect training (Required prior to employment or within the first 30 days)
  • Foundations for Learning training (Required prior to employment or within the first 30 days)
  • Safe Sleep for Oregon's Infants training (Required prior to employment or within the first 30 days)
  • Conscious Discipline training (within the first 90 days)

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or experience in ECE a plus
  • Previous experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or structured program setting preferred
