About The Position

The Learning Experience - South Lyon Township is seeking a caring and dependable Assistant Teacher to support our Infant, Toddler, and Preschool classrooms. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to grow within early childhood education. You'll work alongside experienced Lead Teachers to create safe, engaging, and nurturing classrooms where children can learn, play, and thrive.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Previous daycare, preschool, childcare, or experience working with children preferred
Patient, dependable, energetic, and team-oriented
Comfortable supporting Infant, Toddler, and Preschool classrooms
Must meet applicable Michigan childcare licensing requirements

Nice To Haves

CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus

Responsibilities

Support Lead Teachers with daily classroom routines and learning activities
Engage children through play, art, music, movement, stories, and hands-on experiences
Assist with meals, diapering, toileting, rest time, transitions, and outdoor play
Support children's social-emotional, language, cognitive, and physical development
Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance
Help prepare classroom activities and learning materials
Maintain clean, safe, and organized classroom environments
Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow educators
Provide classroom coverage and support across age groups as needed
Follow Michigan childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements
