About The Position

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the state where the worksite is located.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to assess, prioritize, plan, and implement patient care effectively.
• Ability to respond to emergent situations.
• Positive, friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
• Effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and staff; good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work within a team and independently.
• Organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to work cost-effectively.
• Ability to observe assigned work schedules and hours and arrive on time with minimal absences.
• Knowledge of patient monitoring and emergency equipment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to perform the physical activities described, including frequent walking, sitting, and standing; regular bending, stooping, and reaching; lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling items up to 25 pounds; and constant use of fine motor skills, hands, vision, and hearing.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• One year of nursing experience in at least one of these settings: surgical, ambulatory surgical center (ASC), Pre/Post-Op, PACU, ICU, Medical Surgical, Telemetry, or Operating Room.
• Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Knowledge of Amkai Office and Amkai Charts Database software.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct patient care in an individual operating room.
• Ensure proper techniques and practices are used in accordance with accepted standards of practice.
• Comply with HIPAA regulations and uphold patient rights.
• Perform duties ethically and legally within the scope of the RN license.
• Supervise other personnel in the room and direct or assist them as necessary.
• Immediately report unusual occurrences to charge personnel and document them appropriately in the patient record.
• Coordinate, communicate, and maintain continuity of patient care.
• Assess, prioritize, plan, and implement patient care effectively.
• Maintain accurate and legible medical records.
• Participate in continuing education, in-service training, staff meetings, and the Q.A.P.I. program as needed.
• Follow physician orders and management directions.
• Contribute to a healthy work environment and assist in training new staff when needed.
• Balance team and individual responsibilities and work appropriately with other departments.
