About The Position
Harrison County Hospital is seeking an experienced Pre-op/PACU RN for its Surgery Department. This is a PRN, as-needed position. Under the supervision and direction of the Surgical Nurse Manager, the RN coordinates care for patients in the procedure room, PACU, and outpatient areas. The position is responsible for meeting established surgical nursing practice standards, managing assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment in the pre-op, PACU, PAT, and outpatient areas, and promoting teamwork with physicians, surgical staff, and ancillary department personnel. The RN also conducts pre-op interviews related to pre-anesthesia testing. The role calls for emotional stability and maturity, accuracy, and flexibility in dealing with others.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited college of nursing.
- Extremely organized.
- Tact and diplomacy in dealing with patient families, physicians, and hospital staff.
- Ability to perform IV starts and maintenance.
- Ability to accurately monitor cardiac rhythms.
Nice To Haves
- Previous OR, RR, or outpatient surgery experience preferred.
