About The Position

Requirements

• Fulfilled the requirements to be a licensed PA or NP in NYS.
• Valid NYS license as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
• BLS/ACLS certified.
• Epic EMR trained.
• Proficiency in central venous and arterial access.
• Management and resuscitation of unstable patients.
• Management of respiratory failure including proficiency with standard modes of mechanical ventilation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, professional behavior and commitment to quality care; ability to work autonomously; excellent interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Admit patients from the Emergency Department
• Work with scheduled Physician Assistant to cover Medicine patients.
• Complete history and physical exams on assigned admissions including medication reconciliation, complete all orders including appropriate labs and diagnostic testing, medications, therapy evaluations, medications etc.
• Consult appropriate services needed during the hospital stay for any acute issues identified on admission.
• Discuss and collaborate with attending MD on plan of care.
• Admit to the hospitalist/geriatrician, Highland family medicine, Culver medical group including the complex care center, Wilmot cancer center, and chronic vent services.
