About The Position

Requirements

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.
• One year of medical care experience preferably as a Physician Assistant in a medical practice.
• Knowledge of professional medical practice and care protocols.
• Knowledge of physician office procedures, medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
• Skill in applying and modifying principles, methods and techniques of medicine and provides on-going patient care.
• Skill in gathering and analyzing patient data and interpreting findings.
• Skill in preparing and maintaining records utilizing computer software.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to perform in a fast paced, stressful, high traffic medical office, exam room and operating room settings.
• Valid State of Pennsylvania Physician Assistant license.
• Meets the American Heart Association’s standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years.
• Registered with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for authorization to prescribe controlled substances.
• Board Certified, recertified or eligible by the National Commission or Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Written Agreement(s) with supervising physician(s).

Responsibilities

• Provides primary health care and performs selective medical services such as examinations, formulation of treatment plans and therapeutic procedures, in all clinical venues, under the direction of the physicians.
• Actively participates as a member of the healthcare team.
• Engages patients, families, and caregivers in coordination of patient care.
• Assesses patient health.
• Administers medications.
• Delivers care following a treatment plan.
• Gathers and analyzes patient data and interprets findings.
• Prepares and maintains records utilizing computer software.
