About The Position

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at the University of Washington is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant (PA) at the faculty rank of Teaching Associate to join their spine surgery service. This role will involve providing comprehensive orthopaedic care to patients in surgical, inpatient, and outpatient settings. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team and possess effective interpersonal, leadership, and clinical skills. Teaching associates hold annual appointments and are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period, with one month available for paid time off. The position offers a flexible start date in the winter of 2027.

Requirements

  • Current and valid Washington State Physician Assistant License.
  • Graduate Degree from an accredited PA program.
  • Nationally certified PA-C with DEA.
  • Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment.
  • Applicants should articulate how their past experiences and/or future plans in research, teaching, mentoring, patient care, and/or service promote a sense of belonging and foster a welcoming and inclusive environment.
