About The Position

Geisinger is seeking experienced Family Nurse Practitioners (FNP) and/or Physician Assistants (PA-C) to join our team as a flex per diem provider supporting care for adults and adolescents based at the Geisinger Behavioral Health Center in Danville, PA. Geisinger Behavioral Health Centers provide evidence-based inpatient and outpatient mental health treatment for adults and adolescents. Our Danville, PA facility is designed to support individualized therapy, group programming, and recovery-focused care with a full complement of clinical specialists. Patient population: 75% adult, 25% pediatric (age 14+) Daily encounters: 10–16 Resources include onsite pharmacy and phlebotomy services; EHR is Epic Work autonomously No overnight shifts and no call.

Requirements

  • The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will work in collaboration with the physician and have a certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners or be eligible to hold national certification that allows the NP to work with the patient populations and location settings associated with this position.
  • Must be eligible for licensure as a nurse practitioner in the state of PA.
  • The successful Physician Assistant candidate will work under the responsibility and supervision of the physician and require completion of an ARC-PA (or predecessor organization) approved physician assistant program, current NCCPA certification or eligibility and Pennsylvania State licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive medical assessments.
  • Provide medication management, evaluations, and daily patient rounding.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, therapists, and case managers.
  • Document all care in the Epic electronic health record.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and coordinate care transitions.
  • Communicate with families, caregivers, and community providers as needed to support continuity of care.
