About The Position

Requirements

• PharmD degree from an ACPE-accredited Doctor of Pharmacy Program.
• Evidence of, or eligibility for, Illinois professional pharmacist licensure by the start date.
• Clinical experience and practice involving contemporary hospital pharmacy services.
• Knowledge and skills qualifying the candidate for a non-tenured clinical faculty position within the UIC College of Pharmacy’s Department of Pharmacy Practice.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency.
• Inpatient pharmacy experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, an energetic “can do” attitude, and a proven record of positive interactions with pharmacists, technicians, nurses, and physicians.
• Experience in the safe handling and preparation of IV admixtures and chemotherapy.
• Compounding knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently review and verify physicians’ medication orders.
• Reconcile medications utilized in surgical cases.
• Work with healthcare providers and patients to resolve medication-related issues.
• Ensure that regulatory requirements are met.
• Direct activities performed by pharmacy technicians.
• Serve as a resource for medical and nursing staff on medication-related questions.
• Provide didactic teaching and clinical experiential teaching and training in the College of Pharmacy’s Doctor of Pharmacy Program.
• Precept PGY1 and PGY2 residents.
