About The Position

Eastern Shawnee Staffing Services, in partnership with Indian Health Services (IHS), is seeking an experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) for a contract assignment at Piñon Health Center. This is a meaningful opportunity to serve children and families in an underserved community while enjoying a consistent weekday schedule. This is a fully onsite role where the clinic serves a pediatric patient population. Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed. Candidates should be adaptable and willing to support evolving clinical needs.

Requirements

  • Strong clinical, diagnostic, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
  • Must be a U.S. citizen residing primarily in the United States
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (Pediatric NP or Family NP with strong pediatric experience required)
  • Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (PNP or FNP)
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of recent pediatric clinical NP experience required
  • Active, unrestricted license in any U.S. state or territory
  • Active DEA registration (if prescribing within scope)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
  • Proof of education (diploma or transcripts required)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Indian Health Service (IHS) or tribal healthcare systems preferred
  • Experience working in rural or underserved communities strongly preferred
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary care services to pediatric patients in an outpatient clinic setting
  • Conduct well-child exams, sick visits, and developmental screenings
  • Diagnose and treat common pediatric conditions
  • Administer immunizations and manage vaccination schedules
  • Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans
  • Educate patients and families on preventive care, growth, and development
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
  • Document accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
