About The Position

Requirements

• For Nurse Practitioners: Current Michigan licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP or PNP-AC).
• For Nurse Practitioners: Graduate of an accredited Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP or PNP-AC) program.
• For Nurse Practitioners: Certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP or PNP-AC) recognized by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
• For Physician Assistants: Master's degree and graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant educational program.
• For Physician Assistants: Michigan Physician Assistant license required upon hire.
• For Physician Assistants: Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) credential from NCCPA required upon hire.
• For both Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required within 90 days.
• For both Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association required within 120 days.
• Successful completion of the credentialing and privileging process is required for employment.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and as a team member to support inpatient and outpatient care for patients from the prenatal period to young adulthood.
• Evaluate and manage pediatric neurosurgery outpatients, including performing history and physical examinations, coordinating care, entering orders, and documenting.
• Evaluate, screen, and counsel patients on health maintenance and promote the use of community resources.
• Perform job functions in keeping with service principles focused on customer service, innovation, service excellence, and teamwork.
• Participate in weekly didactic meetings and conferences and demonstrate dedication to lifelong learning.
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement.
