About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or a combination of education, training, and/or experience typically acquired through a course of study leading to one.
• Missouri CNA certification if working in Missouri; Kansas CNA and Home Health aide certification if working in Kansas.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, handbooks, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write simple sentences, paragraphs, and correspondence.
• Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group situations to customers, clients, and associates.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including operations with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to address problems involving a few typical variations in routine, standard situations.
• Ability to work the stated two-week rotating schedule, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Nice To Haves

• Current CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and assist residents or customers with activities of daily living and other duties within the scope of practice as directed.
• Accurately and promptly check and record temperatures, pulses, respirations, and blood pressures.
• Weigh residents or customers and record their weights.
• Ensure residents or customers are clean, dry, and comfortable.
• Timely report resident or customer information to the supervising nurse or Manager.
• Accurately and promptly record information on appropriate charting forms and complete required documentation of nursing care to meet state and Village requirements.
• Perform custodial, housekeeping, food service, and wheelchair escort duties as necessary.
• Assist residents or customers with eating when necessary.
• Initiate and participate in case conferences related to resident or customer goals and care.
• Follow departmental policies, procedures, standards, safety regulations, and requirements.
• Maintain acceptable workplace conduct, handle stress well, and get along with coworkers and customers.
• Drive between locations when necessary for department services.
• Assist other departments during a declared emergency when called upon.
