About The Position

At New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist, nurse technicians are vital care providers at the bedside, serving as critical points of contact for patients and their families. This role involves infusing energy and hospitality into a patient's day, providing comfort and caring, and ensuring the fast-paced environment runs smoothly. Nurse Technicians provide compassionate patient focus and perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse, aiming to improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment. The position emphasizes teamwork and raising the bar for patient care. This is a part-time role, requiring 6 shifts biweekly, on the night shift (11:45 PM - 7:45 AM) at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, with weekends required. NewYork-Presbyterian is an internationally acclaimed hospital, leading in research, education, and compassionate care, serving a significant portion of New Yorkers in medical need as the nation's largest not-for-profit academic medical center.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or relevant work experience
  • Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Technician/Patient Care Technician Program or Nursing Assistant, EKG, and Phlebotomy Program or Medical Assistant Program
  • Nurse Technician/ Patient Care Technician or Nursing Assistant, EKG, and Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certificate
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one year experience as Nurse Technician, Patient Care Technician or Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting
