Registered Nurse (RN) NICU Job Type: Full time | Nights Wage scale: $42.14 – $78.11 per hour $10,000 - $20,000 Commitment-incentive bonus This is a Union Position. Position Summary Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Requirements

  • current state RN license
  • bachelor’s degree or associate degree from an accredited nursing school
  • BLS and NRP required
  • ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire
  • Willing to work and train to L&D and Special Care nursery.

Nice To Haves

  • One or more years of recent Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and/or Newborn Nursery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Assist with orientation and training of personnel and students.
  • Participates and attends meetings as required and/or assigned.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
