About The Position
Performs all phases of laboratory testing as assigned. The Graduate Medical Technologist is an interim position between graduation from an accredited medical technology program and employment as a MT. The GMT should obtain a degree and pass the MT registry within 6 months of employment.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Technology program.
- The Graduate Medical Technologist is an interim position between graduation from an accredited medical technology program and employment as a MT. The GMT should obtain a degree and pass the MT registry within 6 months of employment.
- 0 - 6 months related experience.
- Adequate keyboarding skills to use the computer efficiently.
- Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to organize work in an effective and efficient manner.
- Ability to be detail oriented in the examination of clinical and numerical data.
Responsibilities
- Performs testing according to established procedures.
- Receives and processes specimens, components and/or requisitions.
- Reports accurate test results.
- Performs quality control, equipment maintenance and instrument calibration under supervision.
- Functions as a float in more than one laboratory department (if applicable).
