About The Position
SMG Cardiology Specialists are seeking to hire a Senior Certified Medical Assistant. This position is located in Norfolk, VA and is Full-Time, Days. The role involves performing patient care related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluation, as delegated or supervised by a Physician, Nurse Practitioner (NP)/Physician Assistant (PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Administrative duties are also part of the role.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must have one of the following Certifications: Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified EMT (EMT-B, AEMT)
- BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
- Patient Care experience of 3 years required.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient care related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluation, and as delegated or assigned by and/or under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner (NP)/Physician Assistant (PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Perform administrative duties, as appropriate.
