About The Position
The Material Handler is responsible for painting and preparing structural steel and assisting with loading and unloading steel from trucks as required. Kinsley Steel has been delivering unmatched quality steel on time and on budget since 1985. Our certified and highly-skilled teams specialize in structural steel design, engineering, detailing, fabrication, erection and retrofit to existing structural members. This is a full-time opportunity to work on challenging projects and showcase your skills. From constructing steel frameworks to fabricating metal components, you will play a vital role in the production process. Our on-site projects offer a variety of exciting opportunities to contribute to the growth and success of our organization.
Requirements
- Must have 2-3 years experience with using overhead cranes.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by functioning and communicating in an effective manner with co-workers, clients, and supervisors.
- Works in compliance with Kinsley's safety policies and procedures.
- Must be able to work 2nd shift schedule as well as overtime and Saturdays as needed.
- Basic math skills are required.
- Must be able to tolerate hot and cold working environment.
- Must be able to stand on feet for up to 10 hours.
- Must be organized and can multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience painting and using paint sprayers to apply paint is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklift as needed.
- Perform rigging work to move materials as requires.
- Load and unload steel from trucks.
- Prep and paint structural steel.
- Perform other duties as required to support the fabrication shop.
