About The Position

The Material Handler retrieves materials, supplies, and components from the warehouse and transports them to the production area. The role includes mixing base materials and colorants, recycling packaged materials, and maintaining FIFO practices and material identification. The Material Handler also supports production by supplying presses with materials, maintaining equipment and work areas, and communicating relevant information to other floor attendants.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Good communication skills.
Ability to lift 55 lbs.
Ability to operate a forklift.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a plastics manufacturing environment.
Basic knowledge of IQMS.
Knowledge of visual quality defects.
Knowledge of plastic materials.

Responsibilities

Navigate files and locate documents within the Delmiaworks (IQMS) ERP system.
Understand and follow work orders and Bills of Materials (BOM).
Understand Molding Work Instructions (MWI) and read and understand the production schedule.
Verify that material is correct for each work order.
Empty grinders and fill presses with material according to MWI.
Clean dryers and grinders.
Ensure staged materials follow First In, First Out (FIFO).
Use a forklift as needed to physically transfer resin between locations.
Communicate relevant information to other floor attendants.
Follow safety policies and maintain a clean, safe, neat work area; remove unneeded materials from the floor.
Report unsafe conditions to a supervisor.
Restock packaging needed for jobs.
Operate presses as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
