About The Position

AMI Metals, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance, Inc., supplies aircraft-quality raw material products to the aerospace industry. The Warehouse Material Handler/Packer prepares customer orders for shipping and assists with production. The role involves building packing materials, inspecting and marking shipments, maintaining equipment and a clean work area, and following company safety, quality, packing, and preservation procedures. The position is scheduled for the first shift, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work irregular hours.

Nice To Haves

Forklift certification.

Responsibilities

Build skids or boxes for packing and shipping orders.
Use crosscut saws, miter saws, nail guns, staple guns, and banding equipment as needed.
Follow AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures.
Perform quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards.
Mark shipments according to customer and AMI procedures and requirements.
Stencil shipping information as required.
Maintain assigned equipment and keep equipment records.
Maintain a clean work area.
Follow company safety and quality policies and procedures.
Participate in TQM and SPC meetings.
