About The Position

AMI Metals, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Material Handler/Packer to prepare customer orders for shipping and assist with production. The role involves building skids and boxes, packing and preserving orders according to company procedures, inspecting order quality, marking and stenciling shipments, maintaining assigned equipment and records, and keeping the work area clean. The employee must follow company safety and quality policies and participate in TQM and SPC meetings.

This position requires medium/heavy work, including exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally or frequently and up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects. The job may require lifting up to 50 pounds and the ability to work irregular hours. The position is scheduled for the second shift, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The anticipated compensation is USD $19.30 to $24.57 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and location.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work irregular hours.

Responsibilities

• Build skids or boxes for packing and shipping orders.
• Use crosscut saws, miter saws, nail guns, staple guns, and banding equipment as needed.
• Follow AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures.
• Perform quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards.
• Mark shipments according to customer and AMI procedures and requirements.
• Stencil shipping information as required.
• Maintain assigned equipment and keep equipment records.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Follow company safety and quality policies and procedures.
• Participate in TQM and SPC meetings.
