About The Position

AMI Metals, Inc. supplies aircraft-quality raw material products to the aerospace industry and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance, Inc. The Warehouse Material Handler/Packer prepares customer orders for shipping and assists with production. The position is scheduled for the third shift, 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., and requires the ability to work irregular hours. The role involves building skids and boxes, packing and marking shipments, inspecting orders, maintaining assigned equipment and a clean work area, and following company packing, preservation, safety, and quality procedures. Physical requirements include standing or sitting, walking, handling materials and tools, climbing, bending, reaching, repetitive motion, and exerting force to move objects, including occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to work irregular hours.
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Forklift certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare customer orders for shipping and help with production.
Build skids or boxes for packing and shipping orders.
Use crosscut saws, miter saws, nail guns, staple guns, and banding equipment as needed.
Follow AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures.
Perform quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards.
Mark shipments according to customer and AMI procedures and requirements.
Stencil shipping information as required.
Maintain assigned equipment and keep records for it.
Maintain a clean work area.
Follow company safety and quality policies and procedures.
Participate in TQM and SPC meetings.
