About The Position

Requirements

• Graduate of high school or GED equivalency required.
• Must be certified and maintain a certification in sterile processing form CRCST – HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) or CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution).
• Minimum of five (5) years of sterile processing experience in sterile processing and/or leadership role and/or Operating Room.
• Knowledge of sterilization principles, microbiology, and infection prevention practices.
• Knowledge of instrument names, functions, and specialty sets.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer proficiency for documentation and recordkeeping.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 7 years progressive work experience and 2 years management experience.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced certification (CIS, CER, CHL) preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic instrument tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the strategic, operational, and regulatory aspects of the Sterile Processing Department.
• Ensure safe, timely, and compliant reprocessing of surgical instruments and medical devices.
• Lead daily operations, staffing, quality assurance, and infection prevention practices.
• Drive continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Maintain adherence to AAMI, AORN, CDC, and Joint Commission standards.
