About The Position

Athena Care is seeking a Part Time or Full Time IOP Therapist/Group Facilitator near Hendersonville to join their team. The role involves supporting adults and adolescents in group outpatient therapy. Athena Care has been providing high-quality, accessible mental health care for over twenty years, offering a range of services including psychological testing, IOP/PHP, Spravato/IM Ketamine, TMS, psychotherapy, group therapy, and general psychiatry. The ideal candidate is curious about people, enjoys working with a diverse patient population, values collaboration, and appreciates a supportive team environment.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or other relevant fields
  • Ability to work with patients ages 10-up is required, and ages 5-up is strongly preferred
  • Current, unrestricted therapy license in the state of Tennessee, in good standing, or on track to apply for licensure
  • HIPAA-savvy and committed to ethical, patient-centered practice

Nice To Haves

  • Provisional or full licensure in TN: LPC-MHSP or LPC-MHSP(temp), LMFT or LMFT-A, LCSW, or LMSW
  • Master's degree in a counseling or social work field and working towards provisional licensure
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification preferred
  • Comfortable with EMR systems and standard tech tools

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate group therapy for adults and adolescents navigating behavioral health challenges.
  • Conduct assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning.
  • Write progress notes and collaborate regularly with the broader care team.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the EMR.
  • Maintain licensure and be a thoughtful, engaged member of the team.
  • Develop engaging and thoughtful IOP curriculum alongside other clinicians.
  • Support and care for patients aged 10+ for outpatient group therapy services.
