About The Position

Requirements

• Previous related experience in the construction field
• Knowledge of materials methods and tools involved in construction
• Ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
• Ability to use tools and equipment properly and safely
• Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl talk and hear
• Vision abilities (with correction) including close, distance, peripheral, depth and the ability to adjust focus
• Able to work in all weather conditions
• The employee will frequently be required to walk, stand, sit, bend, climb, reach and use hands
• The employee will occasionally be required crawl, kneel and lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Utilization of personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as required by OSHA. PPE required may include, but not be limited to, face shield, hard-toe safety shoes and coveralls.
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must pass pre-employment screening
• Minimum current OSHA 40-hour certification
• Minimum current 4-hour supported scaffold user certification

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred

Responsibilities

• Follow directions provided by foreman as to daily construction-related tasks
• Utilize tools and equipment necessary to each job assignment
• Observe company policies and safe work practice guidelines, including, but not limited to those required by OSHA
• Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazardous materials
• Load, unload and identify building materials, machinery, and tools and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications
• Mop, brush, and spread paints, cleaning solutions, or other compounds over surfaces to clean them or to provide protection
• Clean and maintain tools and other equipment
• Duties include sitting, standing, bending, reaching, walking during 8 hour shift; sometimes in extreme weather conditions
