About The Position

The internship program offers practical corporate work experience that could lead to full-time work after graduation. This specific internship is for students going into their senior year, graduating in the spring of 2027. It is a hybrid position in Greensboro, NC, with a shift from 9 am to 5 pm, 40 hours per week, starting in June and ending in August, paying $20 per hour. The Bank-Owned Life Insurance (BOLI) Intern works closely with team members to support the BOLI team in delivering high-quality operational, analytical, and administrative support for clients. The intern will gain insight into BOLI products, carrier nuances, policy lifecycle trends, exposure to financial reporting and regulatory considerations, and hands-on experience with enterprise systems and reporting tools. This role is designed for a student interested in financial services, insurance products, data analysis, or risk/benefits administration.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Economics, Business, Math, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Curiosity, willingness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and quality review of BOLI reporting, ensuring accuracy, which includes developing an understanding of current data validation processes to support policy administration and reporting accuracy.
  • Help maintain internal tracking tools and databases.
  • Support the policy administration team with client updates and project needs.
  • Collaborate with cross functional internal teams.
  • Participate in special projects including Salesforce and other operational initiatives.
  • Help standardize client presentations ensuring materials are consistent, professional and aligned with team and company standards.
  • Assist with AI initiatives to support innovation within the team.
  • Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.
