The Quality Inspector, reporting to the ICQA Manager, monitors the quality of incoming and outgoing products or materials for clients. This position works from 7:00am to 3:45pm, Monday through Friday. The compensation for this position is $19.00/hour.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ related warehouse/distribution setting experience required
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Basic math skills - add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must be able to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Experience must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and the ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in related technology field preferred.
  • working knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies preferred
  • Knowledge of quality control standards preferred (ISO 9000 etc.) and familiarity with quality measurement tools preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance
  • Select output samples and check them using appropriate methods (measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparing to specifications etc.)
  • Maintain records of testing, information, and various metrics such as number of defective products per day etc.
  • Use measuring tools such as calipers and various gauges to ensure correct dimensions
  • Monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and well-maintained and discard any that doesn’t meet requirements
  • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and calling for repairs.
  • Prepare and submit reports to the ICQA Manager
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
  • Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
