About The Position
Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc. is seeking a Quality Inspector. This role involves performing final inspections on complicated equipment, instruments, or products for quality, appearance, and performance. The inspector will also be responsible for planning inspection procedures, devising measuring setups, and using various precision instruments, including electronic devices like optical comparators. Key tasks include checking color, finish, dimensions, hardness, density, and other measurable characteristics, as well as performing detailed first article inspections. A $2,000 hiring bonus is offered for this position.
Requirements
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Knowledge of machine shop practices, techniques, operations
- Basic math, logical reasoning, and problem solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- 0-2 years of experience
Responsibilities
- Perform final inspection for quality, appearance and performance of complicated equipment, instruments or products, or of diversified parts and assemblies
- Plan inspection procedures and devise unusual measuring or gauging setups
- Use a variety of precision measuring instruments including electronic devices, such as optical comparators
- Check color, finish, dimensions, hardness, density or other measurable or observable characteristics of material
- Perform detailed first article inspections
