About The Position
Acuren is seeking a AWS/CWI for operations in the Birmingham AL area. This will be a callout/travel position. Successful candidates must be able to travel up to 90% throughout Birmingham AL and surrounding areas. The environments will include Corn/Agricultural, Petro-Chem, Chemical, Pulp & Paper, Gas Plants, Refineries, Pipelines and Pharmaceuticals. A sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available for qualified applicants.
Requirements
- Certification of Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
- 5 – 10 years’ experience or 2+ years on site experience
- In-depth working knowledge of CWI and ASME standards
- Experience working in direct support of petrochemical facility engineers
Nice To Haves
- Additional API certification is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform visual and non-destructive examination of static and dynamic pressure retaining equipment in accordance with Certified Welding Inspector standards and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
- Submit technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition to the client.
- Provide technical recommendations to the client for the repair, re-rate, replacement, and/or alteration of plant equipment for safe operation.
- Provide technical input to the client regarding welding and metallurgical issues.
- Provide technical guidance on the application of non-destructive examination techniques and procedures.
- Comply with all Acuren and client safe work practices and actively participate in all site safety initiatives.
- Willingness to travel if needed.
