The primary duties and responsibilities of an Agriculture and Consumer Protection Inspector (ACPI) are to enforce the rules and regulations of the state and cooperate with other state and federal partners regarding animal disease control and zoonotic diseases for the protection of Florida’s agricultural industry and public safety. Additional duties include emergency preparedness and deployment to assist Florida’s Emergency Support Function (ESF17) on natural disasters and foreign animal disease responses. The incumbent is expected to demonstrate, model and reinforce the department’s fundamental values of professionalism, commitment, integrity, innovation and excellence in all interactions with coworkers and the public. The ACPI is responsible for technical and specialized work that involves a variety of animal health programs and disease surveillance within an assigned geographical area.
