About The Position

Baxter is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Human Factors Engineer to join the Front Line Care R&D team, where you will collaborate with global product development and advanced technology partners to analyze, design, and refine systems, products, and user interfaces that enhance human performance and safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree + 3+ years in Human Factors, Ergonomics, HCI, Biomedical Engineering, Psychology, or related fields.
  • Able to prioritize multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Effective verbal/written skills and comfort working across diverse, multi‑functional groups.
  • Comfortable interacting directly with medical professionals in clinical settings.
  • Familiarity with FDA guidance, IEC 62366, IEC 60601‑1‑6, AAMI HE75, ISO 14971.
  • Skilled in planning and executing usability studies and user research.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • SAP and continuous‑improvement experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Apply HF standards and regulatory guidance throughout Baxter’s product development lifecycle.
  • Maintain alignment with medical device and software regulations while monitoring emerging HF trends.
  • Develop user needs, claims, and critical tasks to shape product requirements.
  • Create and maintain HF plans, protocols, and reports across program phases.
  • Plan and execute formative/summative studies and user‑centered design activities to mitigate use‑related risks.
  • Mentor team members, track project progress, and lead cross‑functional HF discussions and presentations.
  • Balance needs across Engineering, Marketing, Regulatory, Clinical, PM, and Design Assurance to ensure cohesive HF integration.
