About The Position

Looking for year-round stability and local work that gets you home to your family every night? We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. Enjoy consistent, full-time hours year-round with zero seasonal layoffs and no long-distance travel or overnight stays. You’ll operate excavators, front loaders, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment in a stable, well-maintained local environment.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment (excavator, loader, bulldozer, etc.) in an industrial, landfill, transfer station, or construction environment.
  • Forklift certification completed (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to obtain a Transfer Station / Landfill Operations Certification if required.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English clearly to follow safety instructions, read gauges, and communicate via radio.
  • Solid commonsense problem-solving skills and basic arithmetic skills for monitoring equipment gauges and operations.
  • Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required.
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide valid documentation confirming their eligibility to work in the country where the job is located prior to their start date.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred (not required).

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate excavators, front wheel loaders, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment to bale, load, move, and stack waste and materials into trailers/containers.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Check/add fluids, grease/lubricate equipment, and maintain clean tracks and gear mechanisms to ensure equipment runs smoothly.
  • Use two-way radios to coordinate daily priorities with co-workers and office staff.
  • Step in to assist or substitute for team members when needed.
  • Maintain clean, safe grounds and facilities.
  • Attend regular safety and branch meetings while strictly adhering to local, state/provincial, and federal safety regulations.
