About The Position
Reporting to a Public Health Inspector Supervisor, the Public Health Inspector is responsible for a comprehensive environmental health program in the community. Using a variety of professional and technical skills, the public health inspector protects individual and community wellness through health promotion activities and enforcement of provincial acts and regulations as well as bylaws.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health (BSEH)
- Certificate in Public Health Inspector (Canada) (CPHI(C))
- Valid driver's license
- Vehicle available for work
- Ability to perform technical assessments.
- Ability to provide consultative/educational services.
- Ability to investigate complaints to ensure compliance with legislation.
- Ability to facilitate reduction of communicable diseases and health hazards.
- Ability to facilitate community development and encourages a healthy environment.
- Ability to provide training/information for residential, recreation, commercial premises.
- Must upload all relevant documents (ex: certificates, diplomas, proof of enrollment, licenses and/or memberships) relating to the qualifications of the position.
- Must bring a valid Criminal Record Check (CRC) to the interview; it must be dated within six (6) months and include a vulnerable sector search.

- Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement.
