About The Position
Under the direction of ministry HIM management, the Document Imaging Technician receives and processes medical record pick-ups, prepares documents, scans, indexes, and files records. The technician prepares documents appropriately and indexes documentation in the appropriate patient record, visit, and record location. The role also includes verifying every image for readability, quality, and completeness. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Three years of HIM or medical-records-related experience.
- One year of experience in an HIM/medical records department or similar office work.
- One year of experience with imaging equipment.
- One year of electronic medical record experience.
Responsibilities
- Receive and process medical record pick-ups.
- Prepare documents for imaging and record processing.
- Scan, index, and file medical records.
- Index documentation in the appropriate patient record, visit, and record location.
- Verify every image for readability, quality, and completeness.
