About The Position

This is a full-time Greenskeeper position at Litchfield CC. The role involves maintaining all aspects of the property grounds, including bunkers, tees, collars, approaches, fairways, rough, and greens. The position requires the ability to use designated tools and equipment safely and efficiently, and to promote a positive working environment. The Greenskeeper will also be responsible for setting up the golf course for daily play, spreading pine straw and mulch, and spraying weeds. The job requires a valid driver's license, knowledge of golf course operations, and the ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions. Physical requirements include walking a minimum of five miles daily, lifting up to 70 lbs, and standing or sitting for long periods.

Requirements

  • Ability to use designated tools and/or equipment as directed by supervisor, using strict safety rules and guidelines.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have working knowledge of all golf course specific operations.
  • Must be able to work outside in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, wind).
  • Must be able to walk a minimum of five miles daily.
  • Able to lift 70 lbs.
  • Willing to stand or sit for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all aspects of property grounds.
  • Maintain bunkers, tees, collars, approaches, fairways, rough, greens (walking or riding greens mower only).
  • Blow clippings and debris.
  • Set up golf course for daily play.
  • Spread pine straw and mulch, spray weeds.
  • Promote a positive working environment and relationship with all team members in all departments and divisions.
  • Perform tasks in an acceptable time frame.
  • Work well with others in a team environment and have a positive attitude.
  • Work a flexible schedule with a minimum of 10 hours per week, including weekends.
  • Actively demonstrate, encourage, and model safety rules and guidelines in accordance with state and federal law, using personal protective equipment as required.
  • Report safety or hazard concerns to management immediately.
  • Report any work-related injury to management immediately.
  • Take personal responsibility for safety every day.
