About The Position

Requirements

• Valid California driver’s license.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions and walking long distances in fields.
• Familiarity with mobile apps and GPS-based tools.
• Strong observational and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to read and write English.

Responsibilities

• Visit fields regularly to assess pest and disease presence and overall plant health.
• Collect data on weed populations, insect activity, disease symptoms, and environmental conditions.
• Place, collect, and count trap data.
• Record and report findings using standardized scouting forms, apps, or software platforms.
• Assist with implementing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies.
• Communicate field findings and observations accurately and promptly to the Pest Control Advisor (PCA).
• Release biological control organisms when warranted.
• Collect soil and tissue samples for laboratory analysis.
• Perform other technical tasks assigned by the supervisor.
• Follow supervisor directions and meet standards for assigned jobs.
• Perform tasks safely, wear assigned safety gear, and ask for instructions when unfamiliar with safety procedures.
