About The Position
The Northwest Tri-County IU5 Adult Education Program is seeking a part-time English as a Second Language instructor at The Syrian Community Center in Erie, Pennsylvania. The position involves approximately 7–8 hours per week. Classes are held Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to noon, with additional hours for preparation, professional development, and student support. The current hourly rate is $23, increasing to $26 effective January 1, 2027. The position will remain open until filled.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent foreign credential.
Nice To Haves
- Current valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate preferred.
- Teaching experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Adult Education and College and Career Readiness Standards.
- Experience working with ESL (English as a Second Language) students.
- Retired teachers are encouraged to apply.
