About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of the required diploma.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.
• One year of recent relevant experience.
• Experience in endoscopy services or demonstrated competency assisting with gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures in an acute care setting.
• Knowledge of gastrointestinal anatomy, procedures, endoscopic views, and endoscopic equipment.
• Basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule-based instructions and information.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced procedural environment.
• Effective communication skills when interacting with physicians, nurses, patients, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Working knowledge of electronic health records and standard computer applications, such as Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively amid frequent interruptions and competing priorities.
• Ability to evaluate and resolve routine problems using established policies, procedures, and available resources.

Responsibilities

• Prepare procedural rooms for endoscopy procedures.
• Maintain endoscopy equipment and supplies.
• Reprocess scopes.
• Provide technical and procedural support to physicians and nursing staff during gastrointestinal diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to support safe, efficient, high-quality patient care.
• Maintain compliance with infection prevention and regulatory standards.
• Assist with general and advanced gastroenterology procedures.
