About The Position

The job highlights include opportunities for MA, CMA or RMA, EMTs with a WI license, Paramedics with a WI license, and LPNs with a WI license. Position duties may include patient rooming, in-office procedure assistance, injection and vaccine administration, and general clinical administrative tasks in the electronic medical record program (Epic). The schedule is days only, Monday - Friday, with no nights, weekends, or holidays. A well-qualified candidate will be comfortable with hands-on patient care, open to new experiences and challenges, and ambitious, motivated, and sympathetic in nature. Experience and expertise are preferred, but enthusiasm for the opportunity is highly valued. We offer a competitive wage and comprehensive benefits. This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with shifts varying between 7:00 am - 5:00 pm. No nights, weekends, or holidays are expected. The Job Summary states that the role assists in performing a variety of nursing care services for patients. The primary responsibilities include receiving patient care assignments from the RN, initiating delegated tasks based on demonstrated competence, collecting and documenting data for reassessment, and documenting and providing appropriate data to the Physician, RN, and/or LPN. The role may also involve demonstrating knowledge of appropriate lead placement for routine cardiac monitoring and 12-lead EKG, performing 12-lead EKGs, assisting with medical procedures, stocking and maintaining supplies and equipment, turning over rooms after each patient use, assisting with delegated clerical duties, preparing patients for discharge, and working in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • MA, CMA or RMA- must be graduates of a school of medical assisting

Responsibilities

  • Receives patient care assignment from the registered nurse (RN) in charge.
  • Initiates delegated tasks based on demonstrated competence in performing nursing activities for specific patient age group served.
  • Collects and documents data for reassessment at specific times for patient population.
  • Documents and provides appropriate data to the Physician, RN and/or LPN for analysis and validation of patient’s response to care or treatment and when significant change occurs in the patient’s condition.
  • As appropriate to the environment working in, demonstrates knowledge of appropriate lead placement for routine cardiac monitoring and 12 lead EKG.
  • Performs 12 lead EKG on patient according to policy and procedures.
  • May assist physician and nursing staff with medical procedures.
  • Stocks and maintains supplies and equipment in keeping with patient care needs and cost containment.
  • Turns over rooms after each patient use: Cleans carrier, changes sheets, restocks supplies, disposes of trash, ensures equipment returns to its proper place, and takes care of instrument trays according to the current procedure.
  • Assists with delegated clerical duties such as answering telephones, relaying messages transcription of physician orders, preparing and organizing the patient’s medical record.
  • Prepares patients for discharge or completion of patient visit and accompanies them upon dismissal as indicated.
  • Transports patients to a receiving department or facility if indicated.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
