About The Position

AMR Bridgeport is hiring Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) to respond to emergency and non-emergency requests for medical assistance and provide patients with high-quality care, treatment, and customer service. The EMT to Paramedic Career Track offers current EMTs the opportunity to earn their Paramedic license while receiving their hourly wage during class. The program also pays for books, uniforms, and tuition.

The starting pay rate is $26.23 per hour for full-time employment. The role is based in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• State EMT license.
• State driver’s license.
• BLS and NREMT credentials.
• Driving record compliant with company policy.
• Pass the Physical Agility Test.
• Some work experience, preferably in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients, determine the necessary care, and deliver emergency services using appropriate medical techniques and equipment.
• Document patient information, condition, and treatment while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients.
• Use appropriate EMT skills and equipment, including communications, medical equipment, cleaning procedures, office equipment, and tools, to provide care.
• Operate an ambulance in accordance with company safety policies and traffic laws applicable to emergency medical response vehicles.
• Work collaboratively and professionally with allied health and public safety personnel and fellow EMTs.
• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR’s image and establish strong community relations.
