About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university.
• Minimum of 8 years of related experience.
• Previous supervisory experience.
• In-depth knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements.
• Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents.
• Knowledge of financial terms and principles.
• Ability to calculate complex figures, forecast and prepare budgets, conduct financial and business analysis, and prepare reports.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Spreadsheet skills including advanced functions such as graphics, pivot tables, and macros, as well as database management.
• Ability to rapidly assess emergent situations involving systems, utilities, and other assigned aspects of departmental and hospital operations and provide direction to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, implement, and coordinate Environment of Care, Emergency Management, and emergency communications functions throughout the Health System.
• Guide prevention, preparedness, response, mitigation, and recovery efforts for emergencies and disasters across the system.
• Lead Emergency Communications, including Emergency Telecommunications and Dispatch.
• Work with leadership to establish, enforce, and maintain compliance with applicable safety and regulatory standards for Environment of Care, Life Safety, and Emergency Management.
• Identify safety issues, collect reports, investigate accidents and incidents, review and revise policies, and assist in defining solutions.
• Oversee the Hospital Incident Management Team, Incident Command Center, emergency response operations, and Environment of Care committees.
• Oversee Environment of Care and emergency preparedness activities across all clinical and non-clinical places of Health System business.
• Represent the Health System in external local, state, and federal matters concerning Emergency Management and Environment of Care.
• Supervise the Manager-Environment of Care and Life Safety, System Coordinator-Emergency Management, Program Assistant-Emergency Management, Emergency Medical System Coordinators, Environment of Care Manager, and Environment of Care Coordinators.
• Rapidly assess emergent situations related to systems, utilities, and other assigned aspects of departmental and hospital operations, and provide direction to ensure regulatory compliance.
