Maintenance Technician

About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, repairing, and removing plant equipment, as well as maintaining building facilities and grounds. This role involves assisting in improvement activities, updating machine drawings, developing preventative maintenance (PM) schedules, and completing work orders. The technician will also perform weld technician duties, including touching up and writing welding programs, and support organizational needs as a team member. Key authorities include repairing and maintaining plant equipment, managing lock-out/tag-out procedures, requesting materials, and making recommendations for equipment improvements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Additional technical training in electrical, electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, welding cutting, brazing, PLC.
  • Ability to read electrical/electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
  • Ability to use and read measuring devices such as tape measure, ruler, caliper, ohm meter, thermometer, voltmeter, pressure gauge, etc.
  • Minimum five-year experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Ability to systematically disassemble and reassemble equipment.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Teamwork.
  • MVP proficiency.
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently.
  • Regularly lift up to 30 pounds and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Frequent and repetitive hand movements, including grasping, squeezing, and pulling.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Bend, stoop/squat, crouch, stand and walk intermittently throughout the work day.
  • Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately.
  • Use hands/fingers to handle or feel (Operate, Activate, Use, Prepare, Inspect, Place, Detect, and Position).
  • Ability to continuously stand or walk.
  • Ability to bend, squat and climb stairs.

Nice To Haves

  • PLC programming troubleshooting ability.
  • Robotic programming (weld) ability.
  • PLC experience (Required for Electrical Technician).
  • Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
  • Basic machining skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and remove plant equipment.
  • Maintain building facilities and grounds.
  • Assist in brainstorming improvement activities related to equipment and tooling.
  • Update machine drawings and documentation.
  • Develop and assist in developing effective PMs.
  • Complete and/or assign work orders in the MVP system.
  • Complete weld technician duties for touching up and writing welding programs.
  • Perform duties to support the needs of the organization as a team.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and tooling on lines.
  • Assist the safety committee in correcting safety violations.
  • Contact vendors to locate and order repair parts.
  • Participate on problem-solving teams to rectify quality or production problems.
  • Utilize MVP to document maintenance activities and spare parts tracking.
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervision.
