About The Position

Requirements

• Degree from approved College of Pharmacy.
• Should be registered or eligible for registration in this state.
• Should possess thorough knowledge of the theory and practice of pharmacy.
• Should type accurately and with moderate speed.
• Basic computer skills.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly appearance at all times.
• Able to work under stress and have a high level of personal and professional ethics and conduct.

Nice To Haves

• BLS preferred.
• Membership in professional associations is desirable.
• Hospital experience is desirable, but On-the-job training is provided since many tasks and methods are indigenous to hospital pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the dispensing of all medication to provide the correct medication in the correct strength and dosage form to the correct patient in a safe and timely manner while being consistent with professional judgment, hospital policies and the laws governing the practice of pharmacy.
• Safeguards the patient by screening their drug regimen for allergies, drug interactions, proper drug and proper dosing and therapeutic duplication.
• Provides drug information to allied health professionals and the patient.
• Performs special assignments as directed by the Director of Pharmacy or other pharmacist supervisors.
