Student Internship Diesel Technician

About The Position

This internship offers valuable, hands-on experience to students in an academic field, allowing them to apply their education in a real-world setting. The program is designed to accommodate school schedules and provides an inside look at Milton CAT, with the potential to launch a career. Internships are available at various locations across New England and upstate New York, with opportunities in finance, marketing, operations, warehousing, and equipment repair and service. Interns will gain exposure to all facets of the business. This specific internship is for winter break 2025 or summer break 2026 and will be within the Earthmoving & Compact Equipment Service Department. The pay rate is $20.00/hr. Interns are considered valuable team members and receive benefits such as real-world experience, competitive salaries, and consideration for full-time employment upon graduation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Currently enrolled as a student in a public, private or accredited academic institution majoring in a diesel or heavy equipment program.
  • Knowledge of diesel engine, electric generator, power distribution and associated equipment.
  • Fast learner with a 3.0 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Excellent computer and related software skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organization and time management skills.
  • Versatility and the flexibility to adapt to new situations are essential.
  • Able to commute to work location on a daily basis.
  • Must apply online.
  • Background check and drug test are required.
