We are currently on the lookout for a Design Engineer to join our ATS Engineering team. Based in Langley, BC, Canada, this role is a prime chance for individuals passionate about technical design and product innovation. Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or demonstrated equivalent expertise.
  • 2-5+ years of design experience with Electrical systems or electric panels like ATS, Switchgear, industrial controls, etc…
  • PLC programming and/or troubleshooting experience.
  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD Classic.
  • Recognized by piers to be ambitious, self-starter, energetic, organized, and highly motivated.
  • Stellar communication skills in English, encompassing both written and oral dimensions.
  • An inherent drive for innovation and continuous improvement with a keen sense of curiosity.
  • Dynamic, methodical, and driven by initiative.
  • Fluency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada without the need for company-sponsored authorization.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience in AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Familiarity with Visual Factory is an advantage.
  • Experience with certification standards and documentation (UL/CSA) is preferred.
  • Experience with ERP e.g., SAP
  • prior UL1008 experience is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Design Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) and control panels.
  • Analyze customer specifications and datasheets.
  • Develop and review schematics, wiring diagrams, control logic, BOMs, and layouts; ensure design packages are production ready.
  • Undertake controller for PLC programming and configuration.
  • Execute new product development (NPD) projects from concept through production release, including requirements, design outputs, prototyping, verification, and launch support.
  • Own engineering deliverables across requirements of definition, design outputs, documentation, and change control.
  • Support certification activities with technical documentation and test support; prior UL1008 experience is beneficial but not required.
  • Liaise with sales, Field service and production teams to resolve technical challenges.
  • Improve standard components and products, leveraging robust analytical techniques.
  • Aid in addressing routine technical issues, demonstrating a strong problem-solving acumen.
  • Undertake additional tasks as required.
