Position Summary We are looking for a funergetic, relationship-based Dental Hygienist who is passionate about patient care, education, and helping patients feel comfortable and confident in their smiles. The Dental Hygienist is responsible for performing licensed hygiene procedures, educating patients, and supporting the management of the nonsurgical periodontal program as directed by the dentist. Requirements

  • Dental hygiene certification from an accredited dental hygiene school
  • Current dental hygiene license in the state of employment
  • Ability to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, BLS, and infection control training as required by law

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with dental software preferred

Responsibilities

  • Establishing and maintaining continued patient care relationships
  • Verifying and documenting patient health history
  • Educating patients about oral hygiene, oral health, disease prevention, procedures, and services offered
  • Performing clinical hygiene functions, including but not limited to: Exposing and evaluating diagnostic x-rays, Taking and recording blood pressure, Performing adult and child prophylaxis, Providing nonsurgical periodontal therapy, Co-assessing possible restorative treatment needs with the doctor, Determining patient needs and performing sealant placement, Arestin, and fluoride treatments as appropriate
