About The Position

This position is for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who has graduated from an accredited nursing program and is licensed as an LPN by the State of Hawaii. The LPN uses their training for performing quality nursing services for the care and treatment of patients in the offices. The role involves performing general nursing duties, preparing patient records, directing and supervising other health care personnel, screening phone calls, assisting in other offices, maintaining sanitary conditions, and demonstrating quality work. The position is full-time, with working hours from Monday to Thursday, 7:30 am to 6:00 pm.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Licensure as an LPN in the State of Hawaii required
  • Active/unexpired CPR/BLS Card required
  • Ability to manage several tasks at the same time
  • Works overtime as needed
  • Updates education on own as necessary
  • Knows and uses principles of good body mechanics
  • Physically fit to perform the duties of the position
  • Willingly participates as a member of the nursing team
  • Possesses effective organizational skills
  • Maintains a “can-do” attitude

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrates effective communication and telephone skills
  • Computer literacy preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs general nursing duties, including escorting patients, preparing them for examination, taking and recording vital signs, observing symptoms, eliciting information, and reporting to the provider.
  • Carries out or assists with procedures and/or treatments as directed by the provider.
  • Prepares patient records before visits, ensuring all reports are available.
  • Maintains an accurate record of all medications, injections, and treatments administered.
  • Checks patient records after the exam, completes necessary requisitions, and makes appointments with other departments or offices.
  • Directs and supervises other health care personnel in the clinic, delegating duties within their scope of practice.
  • Screens phone calls to the provider to determine if an appointment is indicated.
  • Calls patients to relay instructions or advice from the provider.
  • Performs patient teaching and/or nursing checks in accordance with provider guidelines.
  • Assists in other offices when directed by the Director of Nursing or designee.
  • Performs other tasks and duties as directed by the provider and/or the nurse in charge.
  • Maintains or oversees sanitary conditions in the office at all times.
  • Orders medical and clerical supplies as required.
  • Demonstrates quality work and completes assignments on a timely basis.
  • Makes decisions within limits of authority.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains time and attendance standards consistent with company policy.
