About The Position

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Per Tennessee Code (TCA) 68-57-101(a), non-certified applicants must have 18 months of surgical technologist experience in the 3 years preceding 5/21/07; or began the appropriate surgical technologist training prior to 5/21/07 and completed by 5/21/10.
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

• Act as the "right hand" to surgeons by anticipating every move, ensuring the exact instrument or supply is ready before it’s even requested.
• Ensure patient safety, dignity, and clinical excellence at every stage of the procedure through precision positioning and meticulous draping.
• Maintain ownership of the sterile field with masterfully organized workflows.
• Maintain 100% accuracy in instrument and sponge counts.
