About The Position

The Certified Surgical Technologist facilitates operative and other invasive procedures by preparing and providing the sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment required by the surgical team. This role is in the Endoscopy department at St. Francis Downtown and is listed as PRN, with a day shift.

Requirements

• Associate degree, vocational certification, or military certificate in Surgical Technology.
• Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C), or through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). TS-C is not accepted for Surgical Technologist jobs in Cincinnati.
• Registered Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with the Virginia Board of Medicine if currently residing in Virginia.

Nice To Haves

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• One year of perioperative, operating room, or related military surgical technology experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruments and supplies to the surgical team during procedures while maintaining aseptic technique.
• Prepare, maintain, and organize sterile supplies and instruments for procedures.
• Complete case preparation and adapt to special instruments, supplies, and equipment as needed.
• Assist with pre- and post-procedure cleaning of the operating room and instruments.
• Prepare and perform surgical skin preparation and clipping as indicated by the procedure.
