Central Supply Technician Jobs

The Sterile Processing Department Technician decontaminates, assembles, and sterilizes surgical instruments and flexible endoscopes used for patient care throughout Concord Hospital and its designated affiliates. The technician uses the instrument tracking system during the department’s processes and applies their knowledge as a resource for team members and other departments, contributing to the department’s growth and success. The position follows manufacturer instructions, departmental procedures, and industry guidelines for sterilization, decontamination, disinfection, documentation, and instrument assembly. It also requires prompt, quality customer service and timely turnover of surgical instrumentation. The role involves regular exposure to bloodborne pathogens; frequent exposure to bodily fluids, non-weather-related heat or cold, and slippery surfaces; and occasional exposure to airborne contaminants and pathogens, chemotherapeutic agents, electrical hazards, moving mechanical parts, radiation, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The work environment is usually loud. The physical demands are classified as medium, with lifting, carrying, or pushing/pulling requirements ranging from up to 10 pounds regularly to 20–50 pounds occasionally.
