About The Position
Chewy is seeking a Senior Category Manager to join our growing and fast-paced Healthcare merchandising team. This role is flexible in location between Boston, MA, Plantation, FL, or Bellevue, WA. The Senior Category Manager will be responsible for growing the healthcare category by taking ownership of the P&L, managing vendors, analyzing trends, and building strategies. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong communication, negotiation, and vendor management skills, and possesses subject matter expertise in merchandising, retail, sales, and/or marketing, with some experience in Exotics categories.
Requirements
- 7+ years of related Category Management or similar shown experience; Merchandising, Buying, Analyst, Product, or other.
- Ecommerce experience preferred.
- Deep expertise in vendor management, merchandising, sales, marketing, and general management.
- Validated excellent business judgment with strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills, with focus on execution.
- The ability to use both formal and informal influencing skills across cross functional teams.
- Ability to lead, be forward-thinking, prioritize, and run multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and strong knowledge of retail math.
- SQL a plus.
Nice To Haves
- Some experience with one or more of the Exotics categories.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the category, owning the P&L, vendor relationships, and business reviews.
- Establish, build, and handle strong vendor partner relationships, including ownership across all assortments, pricing, cost/rebate/terms negotiations.
- Build and implement strategies and plans to recruit new customers and develop existing customers using lifecycle management concepts, based on research and data insights.
- Find opportunities within the category to optimize and improve product performance by analyzing sales data, assortment gaps, and market trends.
- Work cross-functionally with finance, marketing, supply chain, pricing, and customer service for partnership and execution.
- Help to launch new initiatives and engagements.
