About The Position

Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in employment counseling and/or case management.
• Ability to work with and support a diverse customer base.
• Ability to motivate clients and establish supportive professional relationships with participants.
• Commitment to helping low-income and disadvantaged individuals overcome barriers to achievement and success in their personal and work lives.
• Knowledge of labor-market trends and job growth.
• Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, majoring in Human Services, Education, or Business Management, and/or three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to understand advanced computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to master appropriate data and case-management systems.

Nice To Haves

• Multilingual ability is preferred.
• Training in Motivational Interviewing, Coaching, and/or Professional Accredited Resume Writer (PARW) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with program staff to determine eligibility and certify participants according to program guidelines.
• Help participants identify suitable career pathways by analyzing their skills, interests, and aptitudes.
• Develop individualized education plans with participants, establish short- and long-term objectives, update plans as needed, and monitor progress.
• Track and report participant support-services funds and training accounts to management monthly.
• Counsel participants on career planning and job-search strategies and help them establish viable long-term career goals.
• Work with Employer Relations Specialist staff to support participants' job-search efforts.
• Provide case management and career counseling, including assessments, resume development, and employment preparation.
• Follow up with participants regarding job searches, resume writing, interviews, and employment status.
• Research industry knowledge and key occupations to match candidates effectively with available positions.
• Conduct mock interviews and assist participants with resumes and cover letters.
• Develop partnerships with employers and education and training providers to facilitate program services and positive participant outcomes.
• Ensure data is accurate, factual, properly documented, and entered and reported in appropriate databases.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
